Driver Training Facilities

Practice Road Circuit

We have an on site 1.3km purpose built road circuit, which is the only one of it's kind in the South West.  Whilst looking exactly like a public road with junctions, a roundabout and even a pedestrian crossing, it provides a safer and quieter equivalent to a public road on which learner drivers can develop their vehicle control skills and more experienced drivers can practice additional skills including towing and manoeuvering a caravan or trailer.

This invaluable facility is available to driving instructors and members of the general public alike for just £5 per day.

Driving Instructors can bring learners from the age of 14 onto the road circuit.  Production of valid insurance and provisional licence or ID of the driver will be required.

Members of the general public can bring learners from the age of 17 onto the road circuit.  Production of valid insurance, driving licence of the supervising driver and provisional licence of the learner driver will be required.

Vehicle Manoeuvering Area

Our manouvering area is a tarmaced area approximately 100 metres in length by an average of 45 metres in width.

The area has been specially marked with white lining to represent various road features such as bends, junctions and a roundabout.  It has also been marked up as a DSA Manoeuvering Area for Vocational Tests.

The yellow box, shown in the plan below, is of the required size for the LGV driving test manoeuvering exercise.
